Volunteers

Citizen participation is a vital component of local government and the Village of Luck appreciates all those who volunteer their time and talents.  The Village of Luck has six commissions or boards whose membership includes community volunteers. These bodies are appointed at the organizational meeting in April, with the exception of the Golf Commission which is appointed in January.

Golf Course Commission
The Golf Course Commission is comprised of five members.  They are charged with generally overseeing the management of the Luck Golf Course.  Members serve for three year terms. The commission meets monthly or as needed.

Water and Sewer Commission
The Water and Sewer Commission is composed of three members who oversee the management of the Village’s sewer and water utilities.  Members serve for 1 or 3 years.  The commission meets monthly or as needed.

Plan Commission
The Plan Commission consists of seven members. The citizen members serve for a period of two years. The Plan Commission acts in an advisory role to the Village Board on all planning and development issues in the Village including the development and maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan. The commission meets as needed.

Zoning Board of Appeals
There are five citizen members on the Zoning Board of Appeals who serve three year terms.  The Zoning Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals of decisions made by the Zoning Administrator and grants variances and special exceptions to the Village Zoning Code.  The Zoning Board meets at the call of the chair.

Federal Housing Authority
The Housing Authority is comprised of five commissioners. Their term is five years. The Housing Authority meets at the call of the chair.

Library Board
The Library Board is composed of seven members who serve three year terms. The Library Board is responsible for the administration of the Luck Library. The Library Board meets monthly and as needed.
